5 Mistakes That Are Killing Your Weight Loss
And How To Fix Them Right Now
It’s amazing to me how many women are making crippling mistakes every day that stops them from losing weight and building a toned body.
They’re doing lots of cardio, eating nothing but salads and weighing themselves constantly, and wondering why they’re not melting away their body fat and firming those ‘bingo wings’.
And if you’re doing this … it’s not your fault.
See, the fitness industry has fed you so many lies and false truths about weight loss that even experienced people make these mistakes. I’ve even known ‘Instagram models’ to fall for them.
“What are they?” I hear you ask. Well, let me tell you …
The ‘no more rubbish from now on’ trap. Basically starving yourself on salads and porridge every single day. In theory it’s a great idea; massively reduce your food intake and lose a load of weight quickly. Because realistically it’s hard graft and demoralising, and it doesn’t work because it’s too restrictive and unrealistic.
Hitting the gym 6 days a week for two hours. And talking of too restrictive and unrealistic, have a think about why it would ever be a good idea to aim to hit the gym 6 days a week when you’re already struggling to go twice? By the way, you can absolutely achieve results in under an hour in the gym (honestly, and whisper it quietly… you don’t even need to go to the gym).
Comparing yourself to everybody else. The single quickest path to lost motivation. You are on your own journey, starting at your own place and with your own unique destination in mind… no one else’s. Forget those ‘instagram models’ – the lives you see on social media are a heavily filtered trick to make you think they’re perfect, before asking you for your hard earned money for something you really don’t need.
NOT tracking progress. A huge part of what we do at Your Body Fitness is tracking progress and keeping you accountable to it. If you don’t know where you’re currently at, how on Earth do you know where you’re going.. or if you’re even on the right path? Tracking progress allows you to assess if what you’re doing it working or not.
‘Hidden’ calories. Recently it was made popular to snack on nuts to help lose weight. Whilst they’re a great source of healthy fats and protein, they’re one of the most calorie rich foods out there. Meaning, you’ll take on literally hundreds of calories in just a small handful of nuts. This is just one example of hidden calories; drinks laden with sugar, sauces and condiments, and ordering food in are other common ones.
So if all these are the WRONG way to do things, then what’s the right way?
The answer lies in a unique 4-step method that goes way beyond just food and fitness, setting in habits that result in being able to switch on and off your results when needed.
